We’re counting down the days until Bonnie releases her first clue on November 29.
Then we can show you Bonnie’s Celtic Solstice Shape Collection and we can start sewing!
This PDF might help you get organized for the big day.
It shows the colors Bonnie is using and the yardage requirements.
You can add a swatch of each of your fabrics too.
My “Irish colors” are in Bonnie Hunter’s Celtic Solstice with Inklingo – Intro.
COUNTDOWN TIP OF THE DAY
Did you know that Inklingo gives you a choice of 20 different colors and at least one of them will show on the wrong side of most fabric?
There are tips for using very dark fabrics with Inklingo under the Top Ten Tutes tab on the blog.
Have you seen Mary’s Inklingo quilts? You will notice dark fabric in some of them. Those were all made between 2006 and 2010. I think it is time to collect photos of her more recent Inklingo quilts!
Bonnie and I are working together this time to include more quilters. Inklingo is optional.
Bonnie’s mystery is made for beginners, so this is the right time to get to know Inklingo.
Carol in Panama: “Thank you for inventing Inklingo. It is the BEST thing to happen to quilting since the rotary cutter and the self healing mat—no BETTER—I’d give up my rotary cutter before I’d give up Inklingo!”
MONKEY’S COUNTDOWN THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The lines on the fabric are reassuring to beginners and give them confidence. Since all Inklingo shapes are named with the finished size, there is no math. Hooray! You can have math phobia and be a great quilter. No one will ask you to add 7/8 to anything.
Enjoy your design and color choices, not numbers.
Bonnie Hunter is one of those great designers who always gives the finished size in her patterns. That’s just one more reason to love Bonnie. (The reasons are really piling up.)
Describe THREE of the strategies that make it possible to use DARK FABRIC with Inklingo:
(Answers under the Top Ten Tutes Tab, above.)
May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light.
May good luck pursue you each morning and night.
May some fabrics be dark and some fabrics be light.
May printing them all be your heart’s delight!
The Countdown continues. If you don’t want to miss anything, you can subscribe get an email when I add the next tip (top of right sidebar).
Let the fun begin asap!
