RIGHT FOR YOU?

Experienced quilter?  You will find these small shapes easier to cut and sew, thanks to Inklingo’s precise lines for stitching and cutting, printed on the fabric.

New to quilting?  These hexagons are smaller than most quilting shapes, which makes them more challenging, even if you have basic sewing skills. If you are a complete novice, the instructions for hand and machine piecing in The Inklingo Handbook will get you started. Thanks to Inklingo, you can use scissors if you don’t have a rotary cutter and mat (yet).

New to Inklingo? Welcome! This is a good place to start.

New to Hand Piecing? Learn to hand piece with the DVD lesson in Jane Austen's Writing Table Quilts, which is on sale for only $14.95  (Act now, before we realize what we've done!)

It presses beautifully!

Hexagon flowers press beautifully.

STITCH BY HAND OR BY MACHINE

A running stitch is the first hand stitch any sewer learns, and piecing by hand is simple, portable, and relaxing. You can follow the assembly directions in any book or pattern, but we recommend THE INKLINGO HANDBOOK for instructions that will help you piece this beautiful, classic design, by hand or by machine.

Inklingo also provides each shape without seam allowances, so if you prefer English Paper Piecing for some reason, you can print the templates and cut the paper with a rotary cutter or scissors.

Rae Ann's Insanity Quilt

Rae Ann Holbrook has finished the center of a gorgeous quilt top with Inklingo, using the design of Rhonda Pearce's Award Winning quilt, "Insanity," which was  on the cover of Issue 16/6 of Australian Patchwork & Quilting. This huge quilt is made with 0.5 inch hexagons!

Rae Ann says:  "I can't tell you how happy I am with how this has come out. I'm beaming with joy. Without Inklingo I would never have attempted something like this. Now to print and cut more white hexes for the first border. By actually seeing the center completed it has given me or inspiration to continue. I'm so excited all over again."

See more about a quilt with 10,000 of these Inklingo hexagons on the All about Inklingo blog.

Rae Ann used a running stitch, but Inklingo also provides each shape without seam allowances, so if you prefer English Paper Piecing for some reason, you can print the templates and cut the paper with a rotary cutter or scissors.
