Monkey loves these little hexagons!

Inklingo is the quilting tool we've always wanted.

It's perfect for Grandmother's Flower Garden and other designs.

Use a running stitch instead of English Paper Piecing (EPP).
It's more portable, more fun, more precise, and faster!

0.25 inch hexagons are tiny!

0.25 inch sides This is a very small size, so there is no third of a hexagon in this collection. Choose your size.

PERFECT LITTLE SEAM ALLOWANCES!

To reduce the bulk and to reduce the need to trim, the seam allowances on these tiny hexagons and related shapes are narrower than 0.25 inch.

NICE TO KNOW

  • See actual sizes in the PDF at the bottom of this page.
  • Great with jelly rolls and scraps LESSON
  • Use any pattern.
  • Okay for fussy cutting tiny designs. (See the blog.)
  • These shapes are too small for machine piecing.
  • Layouts for rotary cutting or scissors

RIGHT FOR YOU?

These tiny hexagons are the result of a challenge from a dear friend, but several other Inklingoists have requested them too. (What are you thinking?!) We are taking requests for other sizes. Let me know what you want.

Experienced quilter?  These shapes are tiny. Want BIGGER sizes?  CLICK

New to quilting?  The hexagons in this collection are probably too small for a beginner.

If you are a complete novice, the instructions for hand and machine piecing in The Inklingo Handbook will get you started. Thanks to Inklingo, you can use scissors if you don’t have a rotary cutter and mat (yet).

New to Inklingo? Welcome! This is a good place to start.

New to Hand Piecing? Learn to hand piece with the DVD lesson in Jane Austen's Writing Table Quilts, which is on sale for only $14.95  (Act now, before we realize what we've done!)

It presses beautifully!

Hexagon flowers press beautifully.

STITCH BY HAND OR BY MACHINE

A running stitch is the first hand stitch any sewer learns, and piecing by hand is simple, portable, and relaxing. You can follow the assembly directions in any book or pattern, but we recommend THE INKLINGO HANDBOOK for instructions that will help you piece this beautiful, classic design, by hand or by machine.

Inklingo also provides each shape without seam allowances, so if you prefer English Paper Piecing for some reason, you can print the templates and cut the paper with a rotary cutter or scissors.
