WILLYNE HAMMERSTEIN’S TARANTELLA 1.5 INCH
PDF DOWNLOAD - SHAPES 50.6 MB + HEXAGON QUILT DESIGN BOOK
System Requirements Print shapes on fabric with any ordinary Inkjet printer.
This Inklingo PDF includes the shapes for Tarantella.

La Tarantella is one of the stunning designs in Millefiori Quilts 3 by Willyne Hammerstein, published by Quiltmania. Quilters asked for the design to be made Inklingo-able, so they would have the option to sew with a running stitch OR with English Paper Piecing.

5 of the shapes are the same as the ones for Passacaglia, so if you already have the Passacaglia shapes, you don't have to buy them again. You only need the "Add-On" shape collection to get the two additional shapes.
The shapes in this collection are LARGER than the templates in the book. The original size is also available (note below).
Most quilters hand piece this design, but you can machine piece, if you prefer.

Book-on-paper
Detailed diagrams for the rosettes and assembling the quilt top are in Willyne’s gorgeous Millefiori Quilts 3 book. (The third book is my favorite!)
This Inklingo shape collection does not include instructions. Sewing pentagons and diamonds into rosettes is similar to sewing hexagons, so when you order this shape collection, you also receive the Hexagon Quilt Design Book ($20 value, PDF download). There are short videos showing how to sew hexagons by hand or by machine on the Main Hexagon Page.
Compared to sewing hexagons, there is an added layer of complexity with Tarantella because the rosettes interlock and overlap each other.
A CHOICE OF SIZES
With the Tarantella 1.5 inch shape collection, the center of the quilt without borders is approx 64 x 82 inches.
The original size is also available. The center of quilt without borders is approx 50.5 x 64.5 inches.

Love the lines. Quilt more!

HAND PIECING LESSON
If you are learning how to hand piece, Quilted Diamonds 2 is the book I recommend because it includes the two-hour DVD lesson for the price of a book alone. It is a great value.
The DVD is like taking a private lesson with me. Discover the advantages of sewing with a running stitch!
PLEASE NOTE
The brilliance of Willyne’s design is in the way she used the shapes to create interlocking rosettes. She teaches hand piecing with a running stitch. It is NOT necessary to use EPP unless that is the method you prefer.
It is much easier to print the shapes on fabric with Inklingo (TWO methods of fussy cutting) and sew with a running stitch. You can probably start and finish 3 rosettes with Inklingo in the time it would take to make ONE with EPP.
On the other hand, there are 8 Good Ways to Use Inklingo for EPP if that is the method you love.

SEPTEMBER 2017 - The diamonds are also used for Moncarapacho in Millefiori Quilts 3 and in Wild is the Wind in Millefiori Quilts 1.
Willyne uses the same shapes in other designs in all three Millefiori Quilts books.
